Giuliana Nicolucci-Altman

Giuliana Nicolucci-Altman is a research associate focused on climate mainstreaming for humanitarian actors in fragile contexts. Currently, she also serves as the Coordinator for Climate Research & Innovation at the International Rescue Committee, where she previously served as Climate R&I Portfolio Lead. She has consulted for international actors such as the UNHCR, UNDP, Sida, GCF, and the Red Cross to address their climate adaptation and mitigation needs, in addition to her work in corporate environmental sustainability during her tenure at Wavestone. She also brings hands-on experience working with refugee youth and supporting community integration—from leading academic and social-emotional programming within the IRC’s New York resettlement services to facilitating art-based psychosocial support workshops for children at the Moria camp in Lesvos.

Giuliana is a published researcher with a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Sociology from the Johns Hopkins University. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, Giuliana is currently based in New York City.
